Michael has been exhibiting throughout the US and Europe for 15 years with a focus on his native Colorado. Recent solo and group exhibitions include ‘The Residency’ at McNichols Building in Denver, the collection at Union Station in Denver, The Museum of Fine Art in Long Beach, CA, and The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. Michael’s work is in several private and corporate collections. Michael lives and works in Denver, CO. Most of Michael’s practice focuses on painting in his personal version of the Venetian School methods, using drawing as the core of his work then layering oil paint to complete the pieces.
More recent bodies of work are extensive work in charcoal drawing and as well works with sculptural instillation using a broad range of materials including boxing gloves, R/R ties, plastic animal toy figurines and feathers. Michael completed his formal studies at Scoala Lorenzo de Medici in Florence Italy and attends ongoing residencies in Tuscany with his formative teachers. Michael now teaches his painting technique and general art practice in the formal school setting as well as in his private studio.
