Susan Trustman Leider, was born and raised in New York City, and attended the prestigious High School of Music and Art where she studied painting. She went on to major in Drama at Carnegie Mellon University, and, after graduating, pursued a successful acting career in theater, television and motion pictures. Among her many acting credits she created the role of ‘Pat Mathews” in the NBC daytime serial “Another World” and co-starred opposite Elvis Presley in his last film “Stay Away Joe”.
After marrying Jerry Leider, a Hollywood movie and television producer/executive, she left acting to devote herself full time to her family. Deciding to pursue her long time interest in art, she enrolled at the Brentwood Art Center, Los Angeles. While there she took advantage of the excellent classes offered and over the years studied with several gifted teaches to develop her skills as a painter.
Susan is a traditional oil painter, working primarily in the figurative/portrait and still-life genres. Her work is held in many private collections across the country and her paintings have appeared nationally in a number of art shows and juried exhibits. Most recently Susan’s still-life paintings were exhibited at the Happening Gallery, Marina del Rey, CA, the Schomburg Gallery, Santa Monica, CA. and the Cape Cod Art Association Gallery, Barnstable, MA. Susan is affiliated with several art organizations, including Oil Painters of America and is a Board member of the Malibu Art Association.
